China was the 3rd country to come out with gold bullion coins (after Canada's Maple and the Krugerand0) It is "legal-tender" which makes it appropriate for Retirement Plans and is sold by the mint based on its gold content.

The Pandas are available in 1 oz., 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz., 1/10 oz and 1/20 oz coins and are .999 fine gold bullion. They are also quite popular and not as easy to obtain since they also have a "collector value" on top of the gold bullion's value. Mainly because China changes the design annually on these beautiful coins.
